CALDWELL — Services for David J. Herdt, 63, Route 8, Caldwell, who died Sunday at a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dakan Funeral Chapel by pastors R.A. Garner and Elmer Unters. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
He was born Jan. 1, 1915, at McGrew, Neb., and moved with his family to Torrington, Wyo., where he was reared and educated. He married Sara Eisenbarth Jan. 20, 1944, at Torrington, where they farmed until 1944. They moved to Caldwell and farmed until retiring in 1976.
Surviving are his wife and a son, Gary, both of Caldwell; a daughter, Janice Devine of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Pete and Carl Herdt of Torrington; two sisters, Marie Miller of Torrington, and Effie Frank of Scottsbluff, Neb.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
