SAMUEL KALETKA married Ellowyn Glover, June 12, 1949, at First Lutheran Church in Granville. They had one daughter, LouAnn (Kaletka) Gayan, who married James Paul Gayan (d.2006, buried Ottawa, Illinois), of Ottawa. Sam, as he was known, was the town barber, having owned a barber shop in downtown Granville, Illinois, for many years.

HIS WIFE:
GRANVILLE —Ellowyn Kaletka, 91, of Granville, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at St. Margaret"s Hospital in Spring Valley.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Granville. The Rev. Anne Ziegert will officiate. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Helmer-Shields Funeral Home in Granville and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Kaletka was born July 19, 1918, at St. Margaret"s Hospital in Spring Valley, to Arthur and Lucy (Holm) Glover. She married Samuel Kaletka June 12, 1949, at First Lutheran Church in Granville

Mrs. Kaletka was a member of First Lutheran Church, WELCA, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and Retired Teachers Association. She was the first president of the Putnam County Education Association and the first female of the First Lutheran Church Council.

She was a lifelong resident of Putnam County and a teacher in the Putnam County School district for 33 years.

Her daughter, LouAnn Gayan of Ottawa, and one sister, Jean Peterson of Marrietta, Ohio, survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; one brother in infancy; and her son-in-law, James Gayan in 2006.

Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church in Granville, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois or the American Diabetes Association.
