Maier, Math
WAUNAKEE — Mathias Maier, age 100 of Waunakee, died at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center on Tuesday, January 7, 1992.

He was born on May 13, 1891 to Adam and Mary (Dohm) Maier in the Township of Berry.

He married Susan Maerz on May 2, 1922 at St. Martin's Catholic Church In Martinsville. They later moved to Waunakee where they farmed until 1961 when they moved to town. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Waunakee and Its Holy Name Society.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; eight sons; four daughters; 49 grandchildren; and 70 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Donald and Joseph; and four sisters; and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 1992 at 10:30 a.m. at THE WINN FUNERAL HOME, and at 11:00 a.m. at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH. Reverend Elmer Dietzel, Reverend Monte Robinson and a nephew, Reverend Raymond Maier will concelebrate the mass. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 8, 1992 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at The Winn Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
