Obituary for Encarnacion Matta
Encarnacion Matta was born March 23, 1930 and passed away on November 26, 2011, at the age of 81. Encarnacion suffered from congestive heart failure and passed away at home, peacefully with his family by his side. He cherished his family and was a devoted and loving father who adored his children and grandchildren. Encarnacion was known for his exceptional sense of humor. He enjoyed good conversation and was known to engage complete strangers in his favorite pastime. He prided himself in learning sufficient words in foreign languages to facilitate impromptu conversations.
Encarnacion was a long-time Tracy resident. He was born in Villa Aldama, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and immigrated to the US in 1956. He worked as a skilled agricultural and factory worker throughout the Tracy-Stockton area and retired from Owens-Illinois where he was employed as a line tender. In addition to his work, he was also a long-time member of the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus since 1957 in Tracy where he had a role as Assistant Pastor. He went on to establish ministries in Woodland and Livermore and later returned to Tracy to spend time with his family.

Encarnacion was predeceased by his wife Esperanza in 2009 and his son Carlos in 2008. He is survived by sons Juan (Kelly), Louie (Alina), Encarnacion Jr. (Carolyn), Danny, Steven, Mark, Joel, Abraham, Fernando (Christina) and his daughter Alicia (Michael). Other survivors include Sisters Guadalupe and Armandina and a brother Roberto. He is also 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Encarnacion was a loving, compassionate and generous man that will be greatly missed! Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1st at Fry Memorial Chapel 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy. At his request, only the immediate family will gather for burial services at Tracy Public Cemetery. An online guest book is available for condolences at www.frymemorialchapel.com

Encarnacion Matta, 81, a longtime Tracy resident and Owens-Illinois retiree, died Saturday, Nov. 26, at his home. He had congestive heart failure.

Mr. Matta was born March 23, 1930, in Villa Aldama, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States in 1956. He worked in the Tracy and Stockton areas as a skilled agricultural and factory worker, retiring from Owens-Illinois as a line tender. Mr. Matta was also a deacon and longtime member of the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus in Tracy.

Survivors include his sons, Juan Matta, and his wife, Kelly, of San Ramon, Louie Matta, and his wife, Alina, of Tracy, Encarnacion Matta Jr., and his wife, Carolyn, of San Francisco, Danny Matta of Tracy, Steven Matta of Tracy, Marcos Matta of Capitola, Joel Matta of Stockton, Abraham Matta of Tracy and Fernando Matta, and his wife, Christina, of Tracy; daughter, Alicia Uchiyama, and her husband, Michael, of Tracy; sisters, Guadalupe Maldonado, and her husband, Gilberto, of Manteca and Armandina Elizondo, and her husband, Beto, of Texas; brother, Roberto Matta of Texas; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 64 years, Esperanza Matta; and a son, Carlos Matta.
