She was born April 22, 1920 in Fredonia, Arizona to Jeff Button and Cornelia Christensen Button.
She married Austin Cook in 1940 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised five children, Kaaren Davis (Larry), Bruce Cook (Kay), Koralyn Drake (Mike), Joyce Peterson (Verdeen), and Brent Cook.
Her family has longed for the day she could run, dance, and see again. Kate was a hairdresser for seventy years. She had a salon in her home and enjoyed the friendship she formed with all of her many clients. She loved to travel and spend time with her family, which she did every chance she got. Her wonderful zest for life will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband, Kate was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Jack Button, son-in-law: Larry Davis, and grandson: Jeffrey Davis. She will forever remain in the hearts of her five children, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the caregivers and residents of Atria Senior Living Center and Sandy Regional Health Center for the love and concern they showed her.
There will be a viewing held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 11:00-11:45 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale.
There will be a graveside service held at 12:00 p.m. in the Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 East, Sandy, Utah.
