Mr. and Mrs. Alex Frommelt;
Alex Frommelt was born at Lichtenstein Jahn, near Switzerland, September 13, 1936. He came to America in 1854 and worked at Dubuque a while before coming to Dyersville. He was a mason and contractor by trade. On July 12, 1870, he married Theresa Sporen (error, should be Sporrer) at St. Francis Church. She was born in Bavaria, Germany, July 22, 1851 (error, should be April 28, 1848), and came to America with her family, settling at Guttenberg in 1853. Later they moved to a farm near Dyersville. Their children were Mathilda (Mrs. T. C. Schermer), Agatha (Mrs. Frank Dietrich), George, Frank, Elizabeth, and Leone (Mrs. J. B. Willmarth). Mr. Frommelt died December 1, 1909 and Mrs. Frommelt died October 28, 1901. Both are buried in St. Francis Cemetery.
