He was born Dec. 25, 1908, in Mallard, Iowa, the son of Frank and Jennie (Knapp) Bohn. He married Isabella Weinholzer on Feb. 12, 1929, in Mallard. They moved to Cass Lake in 1944 where he owned and operated a fur ranch. He was also president of the National Fur Breeders Association in 1970. He was an avid sportsman.
He is survived by sons, Jerry (Betty) Bohn of Cass Lake and Marvin (Carol) Bohn of Brainerd; his daughter, Donna (John) Johnson of Cass Lake and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, James, a granddaughter, six brothers and a sister. (Bemidji Pioneer Dec. 13, 2002)
