Ferd. Vornsand,74,Succumbs to Long Illness
Funeral services for Ferdinand Dietrich Vornsand,74,who died early Saturday morning,three days short of his 50th wedding anniversary,were held Sunday afternoon,at Hubbard Funeral Home,Rev.C. Emigholz officiating.
He had been bedridden and partially paralyzed since a heart stroke seven months ago.
Born October 30,1879,in Germany,he was the son of Wilhelm and Johanna Rogge Vornsand,and came with them to America when he was five years old.
He married Miss Frieda Schriefer here Dec.29,1903,and they had made their home in this area ever since,living at Wildwood for 40 years until 1947.That year,because of Mr.Vornsand's failing health,they moved to Weimar.He was a member of the Evangelical & Reformed Church here.
Pallbearers for the services were six nephews:Albert Vornsand,Henry Ahlers,Herbert Wienken,Arnold L. Brandt,Leroy Schriefer and Emil Meyer.
