A native of Baden, Germany, came to the republic of Texas in 1843 with De Castro. He married a sister of Mr. Fred Hirscheuser, by whom he had nine children, two dying in infancy. His surviving children comprise one son, William, and six daughters, one of which (Sophie) is the wife of Mr. C. A. Leuschner.
Mr. Bischoff has resided on the Arenosa creek, in Victoria county, for over thirty years, engaged in farming and live stock raising; and has, by industry, economy, and good judgment, accumulated a competency; and now in the sixty-ninth year of. his age enjoys olium cum dignitate under his own vine and fig tree, respected by all who know him.
