Mrs. Bertha Perfect was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Ellithorpe on August 13, 1884 at Neola, Iowa. She passed away suddenly after a short illness on Sunday, February 27, 1944 at Jenny Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs, at the age of fifty-nine years.

She attended the Neola public schools, graduating from the Neola high school in 1902. She attended the Iowa state Teachers college and later taught for four years in the Hardin township schools.

In 1907, she was married to Eugene Perfect at Neola, Iowa. After living near Neola for several years they moved to Newport, Washington. In 1919 the family returned to Iowa locating on a farm northeast of Avoca. While living in this community Mrs. Perfect and the members of her family were members of the First Congregational Church. She was also an active member of the Farm Bureau and the Highland Clan club.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Perfect; three sons, Dallas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Donald of Avoca and Corporal Dexter of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Lt. Ruth Perfect of the Marine Corps in Edenton, North Carolina, G. N. Ellithorpe and four grandchildren.

Interment was at the Graceland Cemetery.
