Obituary Notice - Forest City Summit, Forest City, Winnebago County, Iowa, dated 2 Jan 1930:
Mrs. Frank P. Oleson died at the home of her sister, Lydia, now Mrs. J.A. Napier at Santa Barbara, California on 28 Dec 1929. Mr. and Mrs. Oleson were visiting the western coast at this time. They lived all their married life in Madison Township until 5 years ago when they moved to Forest City, Iowa. Mrs. Oleson was a woman who inspired a kindly response from everyone with whom she came in contact because she reflected in her life the joy of living, and it is sad that a happy journey on which Mr. and Mrs. Oleson has set out was so unfortunately terminated.
She was nearly 60 years of age at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, Frank P. Oleson, 3 daughters: Mrs. George (Ethel) Kabrick of Clear Lake; Mrs. Lester (Lela) Moretz of Hanlontown; Mrs. Arthur (Zilpha) Steffensen of Forest City; 6 sons: Herbert L. of Cosmopolis, Washington, Vern of Aberdeen, Washington, Forest of Worthington, Minnesota; Roger W. of Leland, Iowa; Dwight of Radcliffe, Iowa, and Sylvan of Forest City; 3 brothers, George Durant of Nora Springs, William Durant of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; S.B. Durant of Madison Township, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Rose Moon of Buncetown, Missouri, and Mrs. J.A. Napier of Santa Barbara, California. Two brothers and 1 sister have preceded her in death.
Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon in Forest City, at the First Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. M. D. Bush, and the large attendance was a testimonial of the kindly regard in which she was held in this community where she lived all her life. Interment was made in Madison Cemetery.
