Maxine Nettestad Christiansen, daughter of Edor and Christine (Nettestad) Christiansen, was born August 14, 1920, in Pelican Rapids, MN, where she grew up and received her education. Her caring nature and selfless kindness were displayed early in her life as she cared for family members in need.
During World War II, Maxine moved to the state of Washington, and worked in a shipyard, as part of the war effort.
On January 20, 1947, Maxine married Werner J. Mueller, in Sisseton, SD. They lived in Pelican Rapids, where she and Werner were charter members of the Pelican Rapids VFW and Ladies Auxiliary.
In 1952, the family moved to Austin, MN, and in 1960 to Moorhead. Maxine worked at Fargo South High School, DeLendrecies store in Fargo, and as housekeeper or home care provider. However her love for her family was foremost in her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed caring for her home and family, playing games with grandchildren, and she especially enjoyed being outside.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Werner, who died in 1999; her parents; a sister, Edna Hole; and brothers, Clifford and Berthel Christiansen.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial: Monday, 2 PM, Ringsaker Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN.
