Alexander Eichberg was born Jan 8, 1902 at Oglie, Russia, the son of John and Helen Eichberg. He came to Cass Lake in 1910 with his parents and attended parochial school at German (Immanuel) Lutheran Church. After school he worked in a box factory until 1925. He moved to Cleveland where he worked for a year before returning to Cass Lake to help his family. In 1927, he returned to Cleveland where he remained until 1968.

Mr. Eichberg married Edith Dorothy Couts-Clark on June 6, 1931. She died Aug 30, 1975 in Bemidji. He worked at United Musical Instruments while in Cleveland, returning to Cass Lake after his retirement. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Cass Lake Senior Citizens Center.
