She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Aurelia, was a member of St. John Lutheran Church at Hanover and has been a member of Grace Lutheran Church since moving to Storm Lake.
She was united in marriage to Herman Bumann March 4, 1922. They farmed for 39 years retiring to Storm Lake in 1959.
In August of this year they became residents of the Buena Vista Manor Care Center where she passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, at the age of 76 years, four months and, fourteen days.
Survivors include her husband, Herman, two daughters Mrs. Leo (Bernice) Grau of Newell and Mrs. Leonard (Irene) Johnson of Storm Lake; one son Arlin of Santa Clara, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Hugo and Lester Peckenscneider of Aurelia and Arthur of Cherokee; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Wilhelmina) Nelson of Aurelia and Mrs. Lorenz (Hilda) Koth of Aurelia. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Walter Peckenschneider in infancy and Harry Peckenschneider, two sisters, Mrs. John (Alma) Oatman and Mrs. George (Lillie) Bumann.
Funeral services were held Nov. 3 at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake with Pastor Robert Bailey officiating.
Attendants were John Oatman, Jr., Orren Bumann, Orville Peckenschneider, Loren Peckenschneider, Donald Madsen and Jerald Van Hooser.
Interment was in the Buena Vista Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home of Alta.
