Jan 28, 1952 - Cedar Rapids Gazette - Mrs. Joseph Zak, 69, of 923 Tenth street SE, resident of Cedar Rapids 49 years, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a long illness.

Born at Pisek, Czechoslovakia, she was affiliated with St. Wenceslaus church and was a member of the Rosary Society. The Zaks were married in Cedar Rapids Feb. 16.

Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters: Mrs. Albert Meyer, Mrs. Catherine Harrelson, and Mrs William Krejci; a son, Lumir, all of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be conducted in the Barta-Hesser chapel at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and in St. Wenceslaus church at 9 a.m. by the Rev. Joseph Kissling. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Ludvig Urbanek and the Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at the chapel at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
