Oct 2, 1951 - Cedar Rapids Gazette - Mrs. Joseph J. Kos, 63, of 648 Nineteenth avenue SW, resident of Cedar Rapids 47 years, died at 11:55 a.m. Monday in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a long illness.
Born in Czechoslovakia Dec. 24, 1887, she was affiliated with St. Wenceslaus church. She was married May 16, 1907, to Joseph J. Kos. They made their home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lopour.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, William; two daughters, Mrs. Lopour and Mrs. Ernest Fikejs; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Zak, all of Cedar Rapids, and four grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Barta-Hesser chapel and at 9 a.m. in St. Wenceslaus church by the Rev. Anthony W. Chihak. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. Father Chihak will recite the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, where friends may call.
