Catherine Wenstrup, nee Beissenkroll, the daughter of Heinrich Beissenkroll and Maria Anna Uhling was born at Ahaus, Borken, North Rhine-Westfalen, Germany on 18 January 1853. She was baptized at Sankt Marian Katholische Kirche (Saint Mary Catholic Church) in Ahaus, North Rhine-Westphalen, Germany. Catherine's godparents were Bernard Uhling of Wessum and Catherine Beissenkroll. In 1883, she immigrated to America on the ship Weser. Catherine landed at Baltimore, Maryland, USA on 5 April 1883. Her destination was Ohio. Catherine became the housekeeper for her uncle, the Reverend Gerhard Uhling, pastor of Saint Antonius Church in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. In the 1886 Cincinnati city directory, Catherine Beissenkroll is listed as a dressmaker. On 7 February 1889, Catherine Beissenkroll married Bernard Wenstrup at Mother of God Catholic Church in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA. Bernard was the husband of her sister, Anna Gertrud Beissenkroll, who had died on 2 June 1888. On 19 November 1930, Catherine Wenstrup, nee Beissenkroll, died at Fort Mitchell, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA from a stomach tumor. She was laid to rest at Mother of God Cemetery, Covington, Kentucky on 22 November 1930, section 3, lot 270. There is not a marker on the gravesite.
