Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Opole, for Peter F. Pyka, 87, who died Sunday at Country Manor Health Care Center, Sartell.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Opole. Parish prayers will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church in Opole.
Arrangements were made by Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home, Holdingford.
Peter Pyka was born in Holdingford to William and Hedwig (Malesk) Pyka. He married Francis 'Susie'Sobania on April 27, 1944, in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, St. Stephen. He farmed all of his life in the Holdingford area. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Survivors include his children, Darlene Skroch of St. Joseph, Geraldine Kunstleben of Avon, Joan Sunder of Albany, Patty Weber, David and Daniel of Rice, Janice Achman of Holdingford, Diane of Little Falls, and Annette of Holdingford; sister and brother, Teresa Sobania of Holdingford and Joe of Royalton; 37 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 16, 1994; daughter, Joyce; and sisters and brothers, Frances Jarnot, Martha Warzecha, Gertrude Symalla, Sophia Dullinger, Alois, Frank and Bill; one grandson; and three great-grandsons.
