Alex W. Schroeder, 69, of 240 Otis St., Glenbeulah, died Sunday at Rocky Knoll where he had been a patient for four days.
Born June 26, 1908, in the Town of Greenbush, a son of Alex and Margaret Edler Schroeder Sr., he attended the district school. On Nov. 12, 1938, he married the former Verona Halle in Plymouth. She died Dec, 11, 1958. On June 18, 1960, he married Mrs. Caroline Dickmann. The couple lived and farmed in the Town of Greenbush until moving to Glenbeulah 10 years ago.
Mr. Schroeder was employed at Knowles Manufacturing Co., Glenbeulah, for four years. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth, and the Association of Retired Persons, Plymouth.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Glenroy (Carol) Perronne, Town of Sheboygan Falls; two sons, Richard F., Sheboygan, and Donald E., Town of Plymouth; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Victor (Melvina) Guenther, Sheboygan, Mrs. Leonard (Laverne) Fass, Plymouth, and Mrs. James (Marion) Boettcher, Fredonia; a stepson, Wallace Mayer, Plymouth; five grandchildren, 21 step-grandchildren, and 12 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Douglas Phipps, Plymouth, and eight brothers, Clarence and Elmer, both of Plymouth, Herbert, Seattle, Wash., Ervin, Fred, Harold and John, all of Greenbush, and Alvin, Town of Greenbush.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, the Rev. Lowell Ferguson, pastor of Salem UCC, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenbush Cemetery.
