Tina was born August 2, 1911, in a log cabin on the family farm at Sherwood, ND, the daughter of Nils and Anna (Brendahl) Wisdahl. She was a twin to Lina and they were the fourth consecutive set of twins to this family. She attended country school in Stafford Township until the age of 14 when she began working to help the family.
She married Herbert Emmel in 1932. They farmed in the area until retirement in 1976. At this time they moved and made their home in Kenmare. Herbert died on July 10, 1995 after a long illness. At this time Tina sold her home and moved into the apartments in Kenmare, where she made many special friends over the years.
While growing up she enjoyed singing with her twin sister and her two brothers in church and at get togethers. She was a long-time member of the Newport Baptist Church, rural Norma, where she made the church an important part of her children's lives. Missionaries and ministers were important to both parents, so she met, fed, and housed many. At the present time she was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Kenmare. She volunteered at the Kenmare Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed their friendship over the years. She loved music, flowers, and in later years making doll clothes for grandchildren and others. She was still sewing in December.
