Rose was a shy woman, but was pleasant and cordial to everyone she met. She was very close to her sisters and their families. Rose and her husband had one child, a son, Andrew Clark Mixter. They had three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Rose was a healthy woman until she contracted Parkinson's disease late in life. She suffered from that illness for many years. In July of 1971 she fell out of her bed and broke a hip. She died about a week later from complications of the broken hip and Parkinson's disease.
