NEW GLARUS – Henry Schmid, Sr., well known resident of New Glarus and one of the original Swiss colonists who came to New Glarus from Switzerland, passed away at his home this morning. The funeral services will be held on Saturday.

Surviving the deceased are four brothers, Mathias and Adam, both living in South Dakota, Thomas and Melchoir, of New Glarus, and one sister, Mrs. Casper Hauser, of New Glarus. His wife died some years ago.

Mr. Schmid was a frequent visitor in Monroe and will be well remembered by many in this city. It is expected many will go from here to the funeral.
