hreveport, LA – Funeral services for Margaret Chandler Green, age 65 of Shreveport, LA will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the St. Clement Catholic Church in Vivian, LA with Father James McLelland officiating. Interment will follow in the Vivian Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Vivian, LA with a rosary beginning at 7 pm.
Mrs. Green was born in Shreveport, LA on September 18, 1946 to Edison and Ila Thompson Smith and passed away on February 26, 2012 in Shreveport, LA as a result of an automobile accident. She had been as resident of Shreveport for the past 23 years, was a homemaker, a pillar of the St Clement Catholic Church, loved her grandchildren, gardening, and to read cookbooks.
Her parents, Edison and Ila Smith, preceded Mrs. Green in death. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, John P. Green of Shreveport, LA, three sons, Darin Chandler, Michael Edison "Eddie" Chandler, Phillip Green, two daughters, Barbara Hughes and husband, Tim and Melissa Green all of Blanchard, LA. Mrs. Green is also survived by one brother, Jack R. Smith of Mooringsport, LA, three grandchildren, Hannah Chandler, Emily Hughes and Kane Chandler.
Serving as pallbearers will be her two nephews, Paul Smith and Trent Northam, Issac Rawls, Eric Buddy Arrington, Frank Reger and Jim Batte. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Fredieu and Bob Mayence.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the Holy Angels School, Shreveport, LA.
