Eskridge - Mary L.(Lampe) Sullivan, 63, died March 4, 2012 at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. She was born on October 14, 1948 at Spearville, the daughter of Henry F. and Margaret (Whitaker) Lampe.
Mary attended schools in Windthorst. She worked for several years as a beautician, and housekeeper in Dodge City. On August 30, 1985, she married Paul L. Sullivan in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1997. Mary will be remembered for her caring heart and loving nature. She was always willing to help someone else. The delight of her life was her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by son, John Whitaker and wife Andrea of Strong City; one daughter, Christy Rothchild and husband Brent of Salina; four brothers, John Matthews and wife Karen of Lawrence, Frank Lampe and wife Marsha of Kingston, Oklahoma, Mark Lampe and wife Cindy of Offerle, Joe Lampe of Fowler, two sisters-in-law, Margareta Matthews of Albuquerque, NM; Hannelora Matthews of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Cleve Matthews, Doral Matthews,and Linus Lampe.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will be later at Holy Cross Cemetery in Windthorst. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from noon to 8:00 PM.
