Funeral rites for Mrs John Bubbers, 71 formerly of this county died Friday at Stratford, Wis, near Marshfield, were held at Stratford Monday. Rev Edwin Vornholt, Neillsville officiated and interment was made in the Ebenezer Reformed church cemetery there. Mrs Bubbers died Friday evening following a stroke of apoplexy suffered while calling at the home of a neighbor.
The body was carried to its final resting place by three sons, Peter, Louis and Jacob Spindler, and three sons-in-law, Jacob Koehler and William Redeker of town Cleveland and J.Jung of Kiel.
Mrs Bubbers, nee Mary Burchardt, was born in the tow of Herman, this county. Two years later she went to Cleveland, Wis with her parents. Her marriage with Jacob Spindler of this county took place in 1878. Mr Spindler died in 1906, leaving six children, the sons mentioned above and three daughters Mrs Jacob Koehler, Mrs William Redeker and Mrs J. Jung. She was married in 1910 to her surviving husband and four years later moved to Stratford.
Besides her husband and children Mrs Bubbers leaver to mourn her death two sisters, Mrs Louis Rees and Mrs Kate Gusse of Elkhart, 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Among the person from this vicinity at the obsequies included. Mr and Mrs J. Jung, Kiel; Mrs Kate Gusse and Mrs Louisa Rees, Elkhart; Mr and Mrs William Schmidt, Mrs Tina Witt, New Holstein,Mrs Jacob Burkart, Millhome; Mrs Louisa Doro, Elkhart Lake and Jacob Burkart of Plymouth.
