Rebecca Cartwright was the daughter of William Cartwright and his wife, Elizabeth James.

Rebecca married her first cousin, Joseph "Big Joe II" Cartwright. Joseph was the son of her father's brother, Joseph "Big Joe I" Cartwright and Elizabeth Brothers.

After Rebecca died Joseph "Big Joe II" Cartwright married Parthenia A. "Nena" Chorey
