He was the first florist/gardener to arrive in these parts and he quickly opened a small business which was immediately successful. That success turned into five acres of land at 914 Grant Street for his residence, and his six greenhouses, covered by 1,700 square feet of glass. These greenhouses were plentiful with a beautiful wilderness of blooms of all kinds of plants and flowers that were supplied for every occasion, including shipping to other locations. His business offices were located at 517 Third Street.
Mr. Lund was married in Wausau on September 28, 1885 to Miss Christina Houltman from Sweden. They were blessed with seven children. Mr. Lund was a member of the Royal Arcanum.
Christian Lund died on February 21, 1919. He is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau, WI.
