Howards Grove – Mrs. Lena Berth, aged 60, wife of Fred Berth, passed away at her home here Monday afternoon after a lingering illness. She was born in the town of Mosel January 2, 1873, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zelle. On October 24, 1891, she was united in marriage to Fred Berth. For the first six years after they were married, the couple resided in Sheboygan. In 1897 they moved on a farm in the town of Sheboygan Falls where they lived for twenty-eight years, then moved to Millersville for a year, and for the past eight years, they have made their home at Howards Grove. Mrs. Berth was a kind and loving mother and she had a large circle of friends and acquaintances. For thirty-seven years she was a faithful member of the Salem Reformed church on the Johnsonville road.
The survivors are her husband, two children, Walter Berth of Random Lake, and Mrs. John Weiskopf of Town of Herman, twelve grandchildren, one brother, Christ Zelle of Sheboygan, and two sisters, Mrs. Melitta Koechel of Sheboygan and Mrs. Minnie Shope of Milwaukee. One child died in infancy.
