Genora T. Jost of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2002 at the age of 78 years.

Mrs. Jost was born at High Gate, Missouri on March 14, 1924 to Louie and Lula (Simpson)Spurgeon.

She had lived on the family farm many years and on November 20, 1941 was married to Maurice Jost at Belle, Missouri.

Genora was known and the best cook in Crawford County for her pies, rolls and chicken and dumplings. She was a member of Trinity Chapel, Cuba, Missouri.

She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Frasure and husband Ken of Arkansas, Mary Lou Miller and husband Kenny of Vernon, Texas and Gloria Gillespie and husband Randy of Sullivan, Missouri, one son, William M. Jost and wife Ruth of Delaware,one brother,George Spurgeon of Clarksburg, Tennessee and one sister Rozel Salts of St. James, Missouri, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Jost was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, Homer,John, Emery and Verlin Spurgeon and by four sisters, Meredity Licklider, Gerthy Schockley, Cema Garrison and Thelma Quaife.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2002 from the Hassebroek Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastors Dale Grubaugh and Gary Mace officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, rural Cuba, Missouri.
