Son of Frantz Peter (b. abt 1854) and Elizabeth Weisberger. Florian and his brother, Frantz "Frank", changed the spelling of their last name from PETER to PETERS after immigrating to the United States from Russia.


Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Tigard for Florian Peter, who died Monday. He was 89.

Mr. Peter, a farmer, was born in Russia Sept 27, 1888. He moved to Oregon in 1944, and resided in Lake Grove at the time of his death.

Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Young's Funeral Chapel in Tigard. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Tigard.

Mr. Peter is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons Ralph J. Peters and Nick F. Peters of Tigard and Florian Peters of Beaverton; daughters Barbara E. Thorp of St. Helens and Margaret C. Marian of Lake Grove; brother Frantz Peters of Sherwood; 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
