Joann C. Meyer, Age 80, passed March 7, 2012 surrounded by her loving children.
Formerly of Western, Ne., was residing in Hickman Ne., Now resides in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Western.
Born May 28, 1931, to Emil and Maria Henk. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl E. Ziemann, granddaughter Chaznei Ziemann, husband Merle Meyer, brother Boyd Henk and her loving dog Dee.
Survived by her 6 children: Doran (Herbie) Ziemann, Bruce and Nancy Ziemann, Bob and Diane Carter, Richard and Ila Rae Hergott, Brian and Tina Ziemann, and Lynette Ziemann. Step-Children: Gary and Patsy Meyer, Randy and Jody Meyer and Tim and Charlene Lutz. Brother and sister-in-law Ronnie and Elaine Henk, Sister and Brother-in-law Verda and Vernon Schoenbeck, Sister-in-law Alta Henk. Sister-in-law Betty Ziemann, Sister-in-law and husband Lois and Wendell Wissel, brothers-in-law and spouses Roger and Geri Meyer, George and Fran Meyer, Brother-in-law Chuck Meyer, Sister-in-law Ruth Brown. Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In life, Joann enjoyed gardening and canning, baking (KOLACHES, CINNAMON ROLLS, AND HOMEMADE BREAD) and caring for others. In her younger years she participated in softball and volleyball. She worked at various businesses as a bookkeeper. But most of all she enjoyed being a MOTHER.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday (3/12/12) at the Hickman Presbyterian Church, 300 E 3rd Street, Hickman with the Rev. Jason Thacker officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation (without viewing) will be from 1pm – 6 pm Saturday & family will be present from 4pm – 6pm Sunday at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 211 E. 1st Street, Hickman.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
