August Boeckmann, 73, of Muehlen, Germany, died Saturday morning from a heart attack suffered at Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was visiting relatives. He had left Marysville, July 19 for the visit and planned to sail for his native land August 6. For the past year he had visited his daughter, Mrs. Otto Schultejans in Marysville and relatives in Kelly and at Cincinnati. He was a retired sailor and farmer. The Sunday before leaving Marysville Mr. Boeckmann was honored at a surprise party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Taphorn, where about 60 relatives and friends gathered for a farewell party. Mrs. Schultejans and her daughter, Virginia, had accompanied Mr. Boeckmann to Cincinnati, where they were visiting relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Bedes Church at Kelly and burial was in the Saint Bedes Cemetery. Survivors include a brother, Barney Boeckmann, Goff; 2 daughters and a son in the US, Mrs. Schultejans, Marysville and Mrs. Henry Boeckmann and August Boeckmann, Jr. Cincinnati; and 3 daughters, a son in Germany, Mrs. Elizabeth Moellmann, Miss Emma Boeckmann, Mrs. Rosa Behrens and Franz Boeckmann and other relatives.
