Obituary newspapers.com Seneca Tribune (Seneca, Kansas) Thu, Sept 14, 1916. The whole community was saddened last week by the death of Carl Boeckman, son of Barney Boeckman. The child had an abscess on his thigh and was taken to the Sabetha hospital to see if surgical aid could help him. The hip bone itself was affected and surgery was of no avail. He died at the hospital Saturday evening. The body was brought home the following day and funeral services were conducted from St. Bedes Church Tuesday morning and interment made in the Saint Bedes Cemetery. Carl was born in Germany and was at the time of his death 10 years 6 months and 7 days old. Carl was a jolly, lovable boy, quick and intelligent in his schoolwork and had won the hearts of all in the community who grieve for his untimely death and give wholehearted sympathy to the bereaved father and brothers and sisters.
