Easthampton, April 26 – Mrs. Kristine (Sunec) Cernak, 74, wife of John Cernak Sr., died Thursday night at her home, 228 Park St. She was born in Czechoslovakia, March 26 1882, daughter of Paul and Suzanne Sunec, and came to this country as a child. She married Mr. Cernak in Hatfield in 1902. The couple moved to Easthampton 29 years ago where Mr. Cernak was engaged in farming. Besides her husband, Mrs. Cernak leaves eight sons, Paul of Hatfield, John Jr. and Edward of Westhampton, Daniel, Milton, Samuel, George all of Easthampton, Charles of Southampton; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Dickson of New London, Conn., Mrs. Olga Hathaway of Westhampton, Mrs. Ann Mercer of Easthampton, and Miss Susan Cernak, at home; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Sovis of Little Falls, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Friends may call at the Mitchell funeral home Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
