Rosenberg Herald, May 9, 1952:

Fritz Koehne, 66, of Needville, died at his home Tuesday. A farmer, he had lived in this community for the past 21 years. He was born in Washington County August 18, 1885, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Augusta Koehne of Needville; three daughters, Miss Louise Koehne of Needville, Mrs. Sophie Pruess of Rosenberg, and Mrs. Esther Balcerowicz of Houston; seven sons, Henry and Willie of Rosenberg, Otto, Fritz, and Lonnie of Needville, and Reinhardt and Raymond of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Buro and Mrs. Lotta Rogas of Brenham; one brother, Willie Koehne of Brenham; and 12 grandchildren.

Services were held in the Needville Presbyterian Church Wednesday at 3 p.m., with the Rev. J.R. Vilt officiating. Interment was in Needville Cemetery, with Garmany-Heartfield directing.

Active pallbearers were Melvin Pruess, Fritz Jeske, Tom Snedecor, Ad Foss, Hugo Masika, and Herbert Bettin.
