FINAL RITES CONDUCTED FOR ERNEST VON FORELL, RETIRED MINISTER

Funeral services for Ernest von Forell, 79, former educator and minister who for the past six years had resided in this city, were held last Saturday, from the McMinnville Funeral home. He died Wednesday at a local hospital. The Rev. S.J. Osborne officiated at the funeral, and pallbearers were C.F. Olson, Guy Sully, W.H. Agee, A.C. Eggers, Claire Fisher and Fred Schrieber.

Von Forell was born May 26, 1865, at Ottawa, Ill., the youngest of nine children. In 1886 he was married to May Jane Walker who later died. Three children were born to this union, one of whom died in infancy. He was re-married in 1931 to Charlotte A. Crater, who survives.

A graduate of Fairfield college, Neb., he was an ordained minister of the Christian church and served that denomination in the capacity of pastor, teacher and evangelist. He taught at Fairfield college and at Denver Bible college in Denver, Colo., and was at one time regent of the University of Nebraska. Prior to his residence in McMinnville, he operated a farm on Three Mile Lane. He had lived in Oregon for 15 years, was a member of the First Christian church of this city and affiliated with Grange No. 31.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Earl Von Forell of Wheatland, Wyo., a daughter, Mildred von Forell Buster of Denver, Colo., a nephew, C.E. Forell of McMinnville, a step-son, Lester J. Hanna, of McMinnville, and four grandchildren. Two oldest grandsons are at present serving with the armed forces in France and Germany.

Interment was in Evergreen Memorial park.
