Mr. Mehr, 88, died March 15, 2012, in Salem, Utah. He was born in San Francisco, to Edward and Anna Barbara Nyffenegger Mehr.
He was an accountant and a member of the Red Star Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 62 years, Kathryn Carol Calcote Mehr; parents; sisters, Betty Barnett, Helen Mehr and Heddy Hollings; and brothers, Edward and David Mehr.
Survivors are his son, Daniel Stanley Mehr 11 and wife, Rebecca, of Highland, Utah; daughters, Judith Ann Mehr, of Salt Lake City, Patricia Kay Nielsen and husband, Jan, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Sandra Lynn Newton and husband, Mark, of Springville, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
