Alex Werner was born in Elwell, Colo. to Solomon & Teresa (Roth) Werner, who immigrated from Russia. On Oct. 29, 1933, he married Iva Rubena Zink in Greeley, Co. His parents homesteaded near Grover, Weld Co., Co. when he was 2 1/2 yrs. of age. He lived in Weld Co. for the rest of his life except for one year in Wyoming. He was president of the 7 Box Ranch Co. near Ault, and worked for 7 years at the sale barn in Greeley and Fort Collins.
He was a member and deacon of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Greeley.
He is survived by his wife and a son. At this time (2005), two of his children are deceased: Ella Strope and Walter Werner.
