NAMPA — Emanuel Gomer, 77, of Route 2, Nampa, a resident of Canyon County for more than 30 years, died Saturday morning in a local hospital.
Mr. Gomer was born Feb. 12, 1891, in Olmitz, Kan., and moved with his parents to Madras, Ore., in 1901. He spent much of his youth in the Willamette Valley, the Rogue River area and in Central Oregon. He was married Dec. 25, 1927, in Redmond, Ore., to Lillie Marie Hill, and they moved to the Dixie community west of Caldwell in 1937. They moved to Meridian in 1939 and to the Lone Tree community north of here in 1939. They operated a dairy farm until his retirement in 1965. Mrs. Gomer died July 28, 1965.
He was a member of the Christian Church in Redmond.
Surviving him are a son, Howard Gomer of Nampa; six daughters, Mrs. Harold (Marjorie) Gharring of Superior, Neb., Mrs. Don (Shirley) Hunt, Mrs. James (Lenta) Ford, and Miss Gloria Gomer, all of Nampa, Mrs. Floyd (Grace) Monfort of Concord, Calif., and Mrs. Dean (Gladys) Showers of Columbus, Ga.; a brother, John Gomer of Bend, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Harry of Redmond and Mrs. Amelia Callan of Dolores, Colo., and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded death by three brothers and sister.
