A son Ricky Gonzalez, a daughter Elissa Gonzalez, a brother Jose Angel Gonzalez and his parents Jesus and Ramona Gonzalez preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Maria of McQueeny; sons Carlos Gonzalez of San Antonio and Robert Gonzalez of Illinois; daughters Melissa Avila of San Antonio and Lissa Gonzalez of McQueeny; brother Jesus Gonzalez, Jr. of San Antonio; sister Valeria Gonzalez of San Marcos; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rosary was recited Sunday, Mary 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla. Mass was celebrated Monday, May 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Francisco Hernandez, celebrant. Interment followed in the Cristo Rey Cemetery in Cotulla. Pallbearers were Carlos Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Jr. Melissa Avila, Lissa Gonzalez, Ernie Gonzalez and Andy Lara. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
