Marjorie M. Loose died April 24, 2012 at the Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper. She was 86 years old and was surrounded by her sons at the time of her death. She was born Marjorie M. Rohrick on January 27, 1926 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Jacob and Lillian Rohrick. She grew up in Scottsbluff but also briefly resided in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her family. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1944. Marjorie married Melvin Loose in Scottsbluff on July 15, 1945. They had four sons and lived in Nebraska until 1958 when they moved to Casper, Wyoming, where they farmed near the Natrona County airport for many years. She was divorced in 1985.

Marjorie loved cooking, baking and flower gardening. She enjoyed listening to music especially Elvis Presley and Jim Reeves. She always enjoyed bringing mid morning and mid afternoon refreshments to her husband and sons working in the fields on the farm. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Marjorie was a beacon of light who touched the heart of anyone lucky enough to know her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Marjorie suffered a brain aneurysm in October 1978 that left her with partial paralysis and the inability to speak. She earned the nickname ‘Pa-Pa' from those who cared for her and loved her. She was so nicknamed for the few syllables that she was able to say. Marjorie was proudly independent and cared for herself until 2009 when she moved into Garden Square Assisted Living Center. Due to ailing health she was forced to move into Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in 2010. Even though she had a difficult life for the 34 years following her aneurysm, she was usually exceedingly happy and loved to laugh, yet could put you in your place with a single look. You knew where you stood with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her four sons, James Loose of Jackson Hole, Richard Loose of Casper, Gary Loose of Lander, and Steven Loose of Casper. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and her sister Marion Zier of Bayard, NE.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday May 4 at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 51 Primrose Street in Paradise Valley (behind Shepherd of the Valley Care Center) with Pastor Marvin Skogen officiating. Grave site services will also be held at 10:00 am Saturday May 5 at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff, NE with Pastor Ted Meter officiating.
