BOECKMANN, HEINZ - age 85, of Knoxville peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday April 26, 2012 at his home surrounded by love and family. Heinz was the son of Johanna and Heinrich Boeckmann of Recklinghausen, Germany. He came into this world June 30, 1926. His parents and three siblings preceded him in death. Heinz painted since he was ten years old and later graduated from the Staedel Academy of Fine Arts in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a free lance artist all of his life. He shared his talents freely as he instructed here in America and in Germany. He came to America in 1977 and became an American Citizen along with his daughter, Sigi in 1981. He was a loving father, husband and friend. His love for adventure and fun was contagious. He knew no strangers. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Boeckmann; daughter, Sigi Allsop and husband, Dr. Bruce Allsop of Knoxville; step daughter, Rita Maurer Harvey and husband, Dr. Ray Harvey of Buford, GA; step son, Gary Baker and wife, Cindy of O'Fallon, MO; grandchildren, Kayla and Kevin Allsop of Knoxville, Kristen Jones and husband, Sean of Norcross, GA, Sandi Riggs of Pollocksville, NC, Jamie Flener of Jacksonville, NC, Michael Baker and wife, Nickia of Warrenton, MO; seven great grandchildren; five nephews in Germany. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel, 9020 Middlebrook Pike. www.clickfuneralhome.com
