James H. Reed, Jr., 87, of St. Marys, WV, Oak Grove Community, passed away, April 30, 2012, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus, Parkersburg, WV. He was born, February 16, 1925, in Glen Lyn, VA, a son of the late James Henry, Sr. and Nettie Ann Reed. He was a member of the Boilermakers Local #667. His hobbies included handcrafting fiddles and violins, metal working, and playing music.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marge Reed, three children, Deena K. (Charles) Lunan of Charlotte, NC, James E. (Janet) Reed of Darien, CT, and Mark J. (Kristy) of Clarksville, TN, nine grandchildren, three brothers, Neal Reed of Statesboro, GA, twin brothers, Gene and Dean Reed of Rich Creek, VA, two sisters, Vella Anderson and Ruth Radcliff, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ira Reed, Howard Reed, John Reed, and Hugh Reed, and two sisters, Mary Booth and Helen Spangler.
Services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 2 P. M. at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV, with Father Ron Prechtl . Interment will be in the Pleasants Memorial Estates, Eureka, WV. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P. M. Wednesday and from 1 to 2 P. M. Thursday at the funeral home.
