Christian Bischoff
---Christian Bischoff passed away at 8:00 o'clock last evening, at his farm residence in Marengo township. He had been in poor health for the past year.
---He was born in Berne, Switzerland, Feb. 5, 1857, the son of John and Elizabeth Bischoff, and came to this country at the age of twenty-three, settling in Vera Cruz, Indiana, in 1880. In 1899, he married Eliza Reusser, and to this union there were born nine children, two of whom, Miss Hulda Bischoff and Mrs. Della Denton, are deceased. The family moved to this vicinity in 1915.
---Surviving besides the widow are seven children, Mrs. Margaret Sayer, of Lansing, Mrs. Lilly Denton of Holland, Mrs. Inez Raymond and Mrs. Davis Shilling, both of Albion, Walter of Battle Creek, Homer of Marengo, and Roy Bischoff at home; seventeen grandchildren and one great granddaughter; five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Siegrist, Mrs. Margaret Neuenschwander, Mrs. Suzanna Neuenschwander, Mrs. Mary Scherschal, and Mrs. Lena Sheppelman, all residing in Indiana, also several nieces and nephews.
---The remains were taken to the Court Funeral home, and later removed to the residence, where friends may call. Services will take place at home, Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Chr. Heidenreich officiating. Burial will be given in West Eckford cemetery.
