Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church in Kenmare, ND for John Carl Schultz, 74, long time area resident who succumbed Wednesday evening.
Mr. Schultz was a retired farmer and death was due to a heart condition. He was stricken at his home and death was unexpected.
John was born April 11, 1887 in Lac Qui Parle County, MN. He came to Kenmare 46 years ago and engaged in farming west of town. In addition to farming he operated a milk route for many years, prior to his retirement.
His marriage to Valda Parkinson took place at Minot, July 12, 1924. John is survived by his wife, Valda and one daughter, Gloria Helgeson (Kenneth), of Kenmare. There are three grandchildren and he is also survived by his sister, Mary Anderson of Portal, and a brother Fred Schultz of St. Paul, MN.
Mr. Schultz was a member of the Methodist church and during his residence on his farm he took an active part in community affairs and served as Elmdale Township supervisor for many years.
