Born in Wayne County, Kentucky, he was the son of Harley C. and Pearlie (Thompson) Kidd. He married Ederltrud Klara Forster and she survives. He was an Army veteran, retiring after 27 years.
Survivors include the wife, Ederltrud Kidd of Clarksville, Tennessee; one daughter, Julia Ann Kidd of Florida; one sons, James Lester Kidd of Michigan; three sisters, Dottie Miller and Wilma Hunt, both of Seymour and Arie Rush of Bedford; five brothers, Goldman Kidd and Hobert Kidd, both of Springville, Melvin Kidd of Owensburg, Gola Kidd, of Bedford and Ernie Kidd of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Beverly Elaine Kidd; one brother and one sister.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford, with the Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Methodist Cemetery, with graveside military rites accorded by an Army Honor Guard from Fort Knox, Kentucky. Private family visitation only.
