La Crosse -- Alex J. Weber, 87, died Dec. 9, 1989, at the Long-Term Care Center at Rush County Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 23, 1902, at Liebenthal, the son of Andrew Weber and Martha Schoendaller.

He was a resident of Rush County for most of his life, and was a retired railroad section foreman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of La Crosse.

On June 21, 1922, he married Susanna Eva Klein, at Liebenthal. She survives.

Other survivors include; two sons, Loyd, San Diego, Everett, Connecticut; three daughters, Hedy Coughlin, Hays, Cindy Unrein, Rosetta Tuzicka, both of Scott City; two sisters, Helen Unrein, Hays, Loretta Dinges, Brighton, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Janousek Funeral Home, LaCrosse. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, La Crosse, Father Eugene Kenney presiding. Burial will be in the LaCrosse Cemetery. Memorials may go to the donor's choice.
