Joan M. Ziegelmeyer, 72, of Gainesville, passed away at her home surrounded by her family.

Joan was born to Joseph and Emma Zakrajsek. Her cherished husband Edward Ziegelmeyer pre-deceased her in 1998.

She leaves behind her beloved children and their spouses. She also leaves behind her dear granddaughter, who was the light of her life.Joan was also devoted to her sister and brother-in-law, as well as her nephews and niece.

She moved to Virginia in 1999 to be closer to her children, but a big piece of her heart remained in Cleveland, with her loving cousins and their families.

Joan's life was marked by a deep faith. She most relished time spent with family, whether dancing polkas in the back yard in Cleveland; watching her favorite sporting events; or playing make-believe with her granddaughter. She was love and devotion personified and she will be sorely missed.
