Joe Adamik, 81, of El Campo, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006.

He was born March 12, 1924 in Hungerford to Joseph Sr. and Filomena Kubitza Adamik. Mr. Adamik was a mechanic and a member of St. John Catholic Church in Taiton. He was an Army Veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Svatek Adamik of El Campo; daughters, Jo Ann Zernicek of El Campo and Linda Garcia of Louise; son, David Adamik of Houston; sisters, Bessie Fagan of Rosenberg, Cecelia Borowiak of Rosenberg, Martha Patek of Dallas and Vlasta Raska of Spring; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Kainer, Frances Freed, Christine Machacek, Annie Slovak; and brother, Louis Adamik.

Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 22 at 12 noon at Triska Funeral Home. A Parish Rosary will be recited Sunday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass is Monday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Taiton.

Graveside services will follow at St. John Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251.

Arrangements are under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.
