James DeGregorio, 100, died Monday, (July 9, 2001) peacefully at his home in West Hartford.
Born in Ferrindina, Italy, the son of the late Guisseppi and Antoinette (Dareca) DeGregorio, he had lived in West Hartford since 1941.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. DeGregorio was a restaurateur, the owner and operator of the former Hollywood Inn in Berlin before retiring in 1963. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V., and a former member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his many nieces and nephews, Anita Brillman in Wisconsin, Eleanor Colangelo of Manchester, Melanie Carbone of Hartford, Lillian Guglielmo of Wethersfield, Melanie DeManno of Manchester, Greta Pantosie in Nevada, Rosanne nee DeGregorio in Massachusetts, Francis DeGregorio of East Hartford, Peter DeGregorio in Hawaii, Joseph DeGregorio of Pittsburgh, PA, John Carella of Rocky Hill, Joseph Eremita of West Hartford, and Michael A. Eremita in Mississippi; many grand nieces and grand nephews. His brothers and sisters; Matthew, Carl, Alfred, Edward and Peter DeGregorio, Eleanor Eremita, Jenny DiBiasi, and Josephine Carella, predeceased him.
